Freshwater Plants

Giant Waterlily
Victoria sp.

Victoria sp. is the largest of the Nymphaeaceae family. Its interesting plate-like giant floating leave can reach 3m in diameter. The floating leave is so buoyant that a small child can sit on it. Flowers open in the evening and will close near daybreak. White flowers bloom on the first night, and on the second evening, the colour of them will change to pink or purplish-red.
