The Scarlet Basker looks similar to the male Crimson Darter and male Crimson Dropwing, all of which are red in colour. Unlike the brilliant red Crimson Darter (Crocothemis servilia servilia) and scarlet red Crimson Dropwing (Trithemis aurora), Scarlet Basket is actually dark red in colour. Meanwhile, the female Scarlet Basker is generally yellow in colour. They can be seen on conspicuous branches on warm days.
