Indian Mock Strawberry is a perennial herb that belongs to Rosaceae, the rose family. It is a small plant with slender and stoloniferous stems that creeping grown just above ground. The leaves are trifoliate with toothed margin. Small yellow flowers emerge in spring and summer, which are followed by red "fruits" that resemble the Chinese fruit of "Yang Mei". The structure of its fruit is similar to the Strawberry of the same family. The "flesh" is in fact an enlarged receptacle, which is the structure that petals, stamens and pistils etc. attached to. The real fruits are the "seeds" that sunk in the surface of the receptacle, and are called "achenes".
