Malacca Galingale
Cyperus malaccensis

The dried stalks of Malacca Galingale were once commonly used for tying produces in markets. Nowadays, you can still find people using dried Malacca Galingale to tie up rice dumplings during the Dragon Boat Festival. Malacca Galingale is common in brackish marshes in Hong Kong. Its stalk is triangular in shape, which is a common feature of Cyperus spp.
