Stream Walk

Stream Walk

Streams are home to a lot of wildlife. Here you will find the characteristics of different reaches of the stream.

  • Upland Stream

See the waterfall, plunge pool and eddy currents. Watch out for terrapin hiding in its shell, bird droppings and food remains in the upland stream.

  • Middle Reaches

Search for droppings of Chinese River Otter and Common Kingfisher nest around the meander and an oxbow lake.

  • Open Water

The gradient sides are where mud is deposited. Here the animals and plants are typical of Hong Kong’s freshwater lakes. See if you can spot the Leopard Cat’s food remains and Sloughed snake skin.
