Wetland Adventure Guided Tour

Wetland Adventure Guided Tour is tailored for the overseas schools, travel agents, tourism service providers and other private organisations. Our Interpreters will bring participants visit the Park to know about various wetland wildlife, including birds, dragonflies, butterflies, aquatic animals and plants, as well as wetland habitats. Participants will be inspired to play a role on wetland conservation in daily life through understanding the close relationship between human and wetlands.

Mondays to Sundays (except Tuesdays)
Group Size
15 - 40 people per tour (including at least 1 leader or staff aged 18 or above). Each organisation can apply for a maximum of two tours on the same day.
Language
Cantonese, Putonghua or English
Fee

Free for participation, but admission fee to Hong Kong Wetland Park is required.

Application

Applicants should complete the online Application Form in the box below from 3 months to 2 weeks prior to the date of visit.

Advanced booking is on a first-come, first-served basis. Results of applications will be notified by fax or email.

Interpreters will bring participants visit most parts of the Park to explore the seasonal charms of wetlands and to discover different wetland plants and animals.

B. Green Architecture of Hong Kong Wetland Park

Interpreters will introduce how the concepts of sustainable development are incorporated in the green architectural design of the Park.

C. Indoor Exhibition Gallery Walk

Interpreters will bring participants venture into the exhibition galleries to know more about the functions of wetlands, the importance of wetlands to humans, wetlands around the world and the iconic animals living there.

2. Outdoor Habitat Management Experience (2.5 hours)

Participants will gain hands-on experience on habitat management works. The activity is divided into two parts:

2. Experiencing habitat management works Experiencing habitat management works, such as conducting tree surveys or weedingNote1 in the Wetland Reserve, to know more about common wetland plants. (about 1.5 hours)
Suitable for:
  • Participants aged 8 or above only
  • Families, Kids, Youths, Companies and Organisations

Note1: Weeding is only available from April to October. During this period, Hong Kong Wetland Park will arrange the tree survey or weeding experience for participants according to the booking status and the site conditions.

Facilities for Hire

Hong Kong Wetland Park welcomes groups to hire Multi-function Room and Theatre for organising educational activities, such as seminars and mass games. For details, please refer to Facilities for Hire.

Notes to Applicants
  1. Applicants should submit the online application form from 3 months to 2 weeks prior to the date of the visit. For example, to apply for joining the guided tour on 11/4/2017, the application period is from 12/1/2017 to 28/3/2017. All applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis. 
  2. Any incomplete application (including without any organisation chop, selected language, applied date or time of visit, etc. on the application form) will not be processed.
  3. Please submit a separate form for applying for more than one guided tour.
  4. Results of applications will be notified by fax or email within 10 working days after the date of application. For enquiries, please email programme@wetlandpark.gov.hk or call (852) 3152 2666.
  5. If applicant receives the successful booking confirmation of the Wetland Adventure Guided Tour, tickets will be reserved for the group. Please collect the tickets and settle the payment at the Ticket Office on the day of visit. Separate online or fax booking for Group Tickets is not required.
  6. For any change(s) of the date or time of visit after confirmation, a new application is required.
  7. In order not to affect the visiting schedule and other programmes on the day, please arrive at the HKWP on time. Pre-booked services may be cancelled if the organisation is late for more than 30 minutes.
  8. The participant number of the guided tour should be at least 15. The application will not be processed or the confirmed booking maybe be cancelled, if the organisation fails to fulfill this requirement.
  9. All participants must pay for the HKWP admission fees and be responsible for other costs such as transportation, catering and insurance etc.
  10. Scheduled activity will be cancelled if any of the following adverse weather warning signals, including Red or Black Rainstorm Warning, or Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 or above is in effect within 2 hours before the activity. There will be no re-arrangement of the cancelled activity.
  11. If any of the following adverse weather warning signals, including the Thunderstorm Warning, Rainstorm Warning (Amber, Red or Black) or Tropical Cyclone Warning signal No. 1 or above is in effect during the activity, the outdoor trip may be adjusted or cancelled.
  12. HKWP reserves all rights for this programme. The success of the application subjects to the organisation’s compliance with the application criteria. If the organisation fails to observe the obligation as aforesaid or any information provided by the applicant is found to be untrue, the application will be cancelled.
Personal Information Collection Statement
  1. The personal information is provided by the applicant voluntarily for relevant activities organised by Hong Kong Wetland Park. The information will be provided to relevant staff for application processing, contact, and relevant purposes.
